J. Cole’s Dreamville Records has added a new artist to its roster. Over the weekend, the label unveiled Atlanta rapper J.I.D as its latest signing.
Hailing from the east side of the city, J.I.D. is best known as a member of the Spillage Village crew, which also includes EarthGang, Jordxn Bryant and Hollywood JB. J.I.D. joined Omen’s Elephant Eyes tour in 2015 and appeared alongside J. Cole, Bas and EarthGang on last year’s “Can’t Call It.”
In a two-minute video above promoting his Dreamville signing and upcoming project, The Never Story, J.I.D. introduces us to his beaten up yet beloved Pontiac, which he says has “been through every phase of my life, from me not having anything at all to me having the little bit that I got now.”
